Meet Wendy Widom
LSW, QMHP, Therapist
(she/her)
Hi, I’m Wendy Widom, a therapist at ARCH Counseling Center. Life can throw you for a loop sometimes, even when the changes are expected. It might leave you feeling anxious, depressed, or disconnected from yourself and the people around you. You may be feeling stuck, without quite knowing how to move forward. That can be hard and lonely, and having someone to talk to can help.
More about WENDY
Education, Background & More
I work with individuals and families navigating life’s transitions and challenges. We look at why certain patterns keep repeating, how to renegotiate and strengthen relationships, and how to feel more in control of your life. We sort through thoughts and feelings that have overstayed their welcome and clarify what you actually value and want. I’m here to listen and am genuinely interested in your story.
I hold a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School as well as a master’s degree in organizational psychology from Columbia University. I began my career as a Peace Corps Volunteer, which sparked in me an appreciation for the many ways people experience the world – a perspective that continues to shape my practice today.
In addition to my clinical and case management work, I study social isolation and loneliness, a crisis impacting many people across Chicagoland. With the AI era upon us and screens in most people’s pockets, I look for evidence-based ways to help people feel more socially connected and less alone.
I am based in Chicago, where I’m training for a triathlon I will never formally compete in and where I discovered, much later in life, that I love going to raves.
