Hi, I’m Sofie Solomon, a clinical mental health intern therapist at ARCH Counseling Center. I have experience working with children and adolescents navigating behavioral challenges, emotional dysregulation, academic stressors, and social-emotional development, and I am also interested in working with adults who are seeking support, insight, and meaningful change in their lives. My approach to therapy is person-centered and trauma-informed. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood while developing practical skills to manage overwhelming emotions, strengthen relationships, and build resilience. I believe that each person’s experiences are unique, and I work collaboratively with clients to support growth, self-awareness, and positive change.

My commitment to providing person-centered and trauma-informed care began through my hands-on experience in high-acuity therapeutic and educational settings. Prior to my internship, I worked as a Crisis Interventionist and Paraprofessional in a therapeutic day school setting, where I supported children and adolescents experiencing significant behavioral and emotional dysregulation. This experience has strengthened my ability to respond effectively in moments of crisis while identifying the underlying needs and functions of behavior.
In these roles, I developed and implemented behavioral interventions through observation, data tracking, and analysis of behavioral antecedents. I co-facilitated topic-based therapy groups focused on problem-solving, emotional regulation, and improving peer interactions, while also providing individualized support to help individuals reach their behavioral and emotional goals.
To build upon this foundation, I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at The Chicago School. I am passionate about integrating evidence-based and trauma-informed practices to help individuals navigate challenges and build lasting resilience.
