Education, Background & More
Education, Background & More
Before completing my master’s degree in counseling psychology, I worked in special education and provided school-based behavioral therapy. My background includes working with a variety of mental and behavioral health related issues. I have provided direct care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. I also have experience working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship concerns.
Additionally, I’m a Perinatal Mental Health Trained Clinician. I am passionate about providing support to individuals and couples navigating challenges associated with pregnancy, postpartum, fertility, and loss. My passion for supporting individuals and couples on their journey through the perinatal period grew out of my own experience and challenges of becoming a parent. I am aware of how this time can be incredibly overwhelming and isolating while also being beautiful and joyous.
I recognize that seeking therapy can be very difficult. It takes so much courage to discuss challenges you are facing. Because of this, I truly believe in meeting clients where they are. My therapeutic style is open and non-judgmental. I believe therapy feels more effective when you feel comfortable with your clinician. Using a trauma-informed therapeutic approach, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship first. I build trust and rapport through compassion, feedback, and a touch of humor. I enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and offer in-person and virtual therapy sessions to clients throughout Illinois.
