More about Callen
Education, Background & More
My path to becoming a therapist began as a dancer at age three, when my body first spoke in rhythm and breath. This early relationship with movement profoundly shaped my understanding of human expression and healing. I earned my Master of Arts Degree from Columbia College Chicago in 2015 in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling. I’ve also been accepted into California Institute of Integral Studies’ Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Psychology with a concentration in Somatic Psychology for the Fall 2025 semester, further embodying my belief that the body is a vital source of wisdom and healing.
Today, as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida, I seamlessly weave my lifelong love of movement into my practice. As a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), I integrated a range of trauma-informed, holistic approaches, grounded in positive psychology and rooted in the mind-body connection, to support whole-person healing. My background also includes training as a Somatic Practitioner, Registered Kundalini Yoga teacher, certified barre instructor, Usui Reiki Master, sound healing practitioner, and meditation teacher, all of which inform my unique integrative style.
Beyond my clinical work, I am an Accredited Clinical Supervisor, providing supervision and mentorship to therapists at all stages of their careers, fostering the next generation of compassionate healers.
Teletherapy with Callen Jones
In addition to in-person sessions, Callen Jones, LCPC, LPHA, LMHC, R-DMT, NCC, provides professional teletherapy services for clients across Chicago and throughout Illinois. Through secure and confidential video sessions, Callen offers flexible support, making it easier to access care from the comfort and privacy of your home.
Beyond telehealth, Callen brings a unique expertise as a Somatic Therapist and current Ph.D. candidate in Somatic Psychology. Her integrative, body-centered approach helps clients reconnect with their nervous systems, release stored tension, and access inner resilience—providing a holistic path to emotional wellness and personal growth.
With over ten years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse settings, including schools, hospitals, substance use treatment centers, and community mental health clinics. My dedication to inclusive care led me to study American Sign Language (ASL), expanding my ability to support Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing clients. I also have professional training in serving adults who are blind or visually impaired. I am deeply committed to creating spaces that honor all diverse ways of communicating, sensing, and navigating the world.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in movement, expanded through mindful, integrative healing practices, and devoted to holding compassionate space – whether you’ve navigating sorrow, anxiety, shame, or seeking clarity. Sometimes, the first step towards wholeness begins with a single mindful breath.
