A Holistic Approach to Healing

Integrated Person-Centered Therapy and Trauma-Informed Care

At ARCH Counseling Center, our work is grounded in Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed approaches to therapy. We recognize that each client’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique, and we strive to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship that supports self-understanding, growth, and meaningful change.

Our approach

Person-Centered Therapy

Pioneered by Carl Rogers, Person-Centered Therapy is based on the belief that people have the capacity for growth, self-understanding, and meaningful change. Rather than taking an expert-driven approach, therapists work collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences, concerns, and goals.

Empathy
We strive to understand each client’s experiences and perspectives with care, curiosity, and respect.

Acceptance
We provide a non-judgmental environment where clients can openly discuss their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Authenticity
Our clinicians aim to be genuine, present, and engaged in the therapeutic relationship, helping to build trust and open communication.

Trauma-Informed Care recognizes that past experiences can influence how people relate to themselves, others, and the world around them. Our clinicians strive to provide care that is respectful, collaborative, and responsive to each client’s experiences.

Safety
We work to create an environment where clients feel physically and emotionally respected and supported.

Trust and Transparency
We value open communication, clear expectations, and respect for personal boundaries.

Choice
Clients are encouraged to actively participate in decisions about their treatment, goals, and therapeutic process.

Collaboration
Therapy is a collaborative process. We work together with clients to identify goals and develop an approach that reflects their needs and priorities.

Strengths-Based Approach
We recognize and build upon each client’s existing strengths, skills, and resources.

Cultural Awareness
We consider the ways culture, identity, community, family history, and lived experiences shape each person’s perspective and experiences.

Benefits of Our Approach

By combining Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed principles, we strive to create a therapeutic environment that is respectful, collaborative, and responsive to each client’s needs.

Stronger Therapeutic Relationships
A foundation of trust, respect, and collaboration can help clients feel more comfortable discussing difficult experiences and working toward their goals.

Individualized Care
Treatment is guided by each client’s experiences, strengths, concerns, and priorities rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Support for Trauma and Mental Health Concerns
Trauma-Informed approaches can be helpful for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and other challenges related to difficult life experiences.

Focus on Strengths and Growth
Therapy helps clients identify existing strengths, develop coping skills, and build greater confidence in managing life’s challenges.

At ARCH Counseling Center, we strive to provide care that is collaborative, respectful, and responsive to each client’s unique experiences and goals. Our Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed approach allows us to adapt treatment to the needs of each individual, couple, family, or child we serve.

Please note that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. The specific approaches and interventions used will vary based on each client’s concerns, strengths, and treatment goals.
