How ARCH Counseling Center Began

From Vision to Reality: A Safe Space for Mental Health

ARCH Counseling Center was founded in 2024 by Bernard de Wet with the goal of providing thoughtful, accessible mental health services to individuals, couples, families, and children throughout the Chicago area. Our name reflects the values that guide our work: Acceptance, Recovery, Compassion, and Healing.

Our practice is grounded in Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed approaches to care. We recognize that each client’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique, and we work collaboratively to provide treatment that is responsive to their individual needs. Through in-person and telehealth services, we strive to make mental health care accessible to the diverse communities we serve.

A Foundation Built on Collaboration

A Team Built on Collaboration and Friendship

ARCH Counseling Center was founded by Bernard de Wet with the support of Gabby Hidalgo, Karime Silva, and Sara Guerrero. Their contributions were instrumental in establishing the practice and helping bring ARCH’s mission and services to the community.

Through their dedication, collaboration, and commitment to accessible mental health care, they helped lay the foundation for the practice that continues to serve clients today.

A Vision for the Future

A Foundation of Trust and Experience

Many members of the ARCH Counseling Center team have worked together for years and have built strong professional relationships grounded in trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to client care. These longstanding connections have helped shape the culture of our practice and the way we work together as a team.

We believe that strong relationships among our staff contribute to a collaborative environment where clinicians can support one another and provide thoughtful, high-quality care to the individuals, couples, families, and children we serve.

ARCH Counseling Center is committed to increasing access to mental health services for individuals, couples, families, and children throughout Chicago and Illinois. As our practice continues to grow, we aim to expand our reach while remaining grounded in the values of acceptance, recovery, compassion, and healing that guide our work.

Through in-person and telehealth services, we strive to provide thoughtful, inclusive, and evidence-based care to the diverse communities we serve.
